At a recent kick-off workshop, the San Francisco Bay Super Bowl 50 Host Committee presented the Business Connect program and provided an opportunity for interested businesses to learn how to get their business on the “short list” of vendors for Super Bowl 50. Business Connect links the Bay Area’s diverse business community to contracting opportunities related to Super Bowl 50. The program’s goal is to increase opportunities for minority, women, disabled veteran, lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender owned business enterprises to conduct Super Bowl business as well as support individual business growth through networking events and educational programs. A program of the National Football League (NFL), Business Connect is a signature initiative of the San Francisco Bay Area Super Bowl 50 Host Committee.
In order to participate in the Business Connect program, your business must be local (within one of the nine Bay Area Counties) and have at least one of the following certifications:
- Minority-owned (MBE)
- Women-owned (WBE)
- Disabled veteran-owned (DVBE)
- Lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBTBE)
To qualify for participation in Business Connect, your business must be certified in at least one of the above categories by the following partner agencies:
- Western Regional Minority Supplier Develop Council (WRMSDC)*
- Astra Women’s Business Alliance (Astra)*
- California Department of General Services (DGS)*
- The Supplier Clearinghouse*

The application deadline for Business Connect is April 30th. If your business falls within one of the above categories, but you are not certified by one of the above organizations, please make sure to start the process now as some can take as much as 60 days for certification.
