As a result of the building of Levi’s Stadium, the city could undergo a huge transformation as developer Related California has released plans to develop 215 acres of city-owned land that is currently the site of the Santa Clara Golf & Tennis Club and a bicycle-motocross track. The project would include much needed retail, entertainment, residential, hotel, and office space in the area near the Santa Clara Convention Center, Levi’s Stadium, and California’s Great America.
Related California’s project includes an 89-acre City Center with a cinema, market, restaurants, and 886,000 sq. ft. of retail area. In all, City Center would be 1.4 million sq. ft. of retail and entertainment area, 2.2 million sq. ft. of office space, 200 hotel rooms and 530 residential units.
Also proposed on the city owned acres at the intersection of Tasman Dr. and Centennial Blvd. directly across from the stadium is the $400 million “Centennial Gateway” project which has plans for two hotels, restaurants, entertainment, and office space. This additional 860,000 sq. ft. project is led by the Montana Property Group and Lowe Enterprises.
