The eight Santa Clara Tourism Improvement District (TID) hotels surrounding the new 49ers Santa Clara Stadium, Santa Clara Convention Center and California’s Great America theme park averaged 76% occupancy in 2012. The hotels average is a 2% increase over previous year (74%).
Average Daily Rate (ADR) in 2012 was also up to $147 a night, a $12 increase compared to 2011. Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce and Convention-Visitors Bureau President and CEO Steve Van Dorn credits the strong year to corporate, convention, and leisure business. “Santa Clara is a city with a lot going on. People travel here whether it’s for a business meeting, to attend a convention, or visit our theme park or a special event,” says Van Dorn.
The averages compiled by the Santa Clara Convention and Visitors Bureau include the Avatar Hotel, Biltmore Hotel & Suites, Embassy Suites, Hilton Santa Clara, Hyatt house, Hyatt Regency Santa Clara, Marriott Santa Clara, and the Plaza Suites.
