Business Experience Day Needs Student Hosts

The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce & Convention-Visitors Bureau is looking for businesses willing to host students for the day in their place of business.  Business Experience Day 2012 takes place on Friday, October 26 and includes the opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to learn from business owners and representatives what it takes to run a business.  All proceeds from the event are put into a scholarship fund that is awarded at the end of the school year to graduating seniors that participated in the program.  This past year we were able to award two scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each to Krizzia Salas and Melvin Faulks of Santa Clara High School.

How can you help?  Take a moment to review the form that’s included in this newsletter and complete and send it to the Chamber with your payment.  Make sure to include the contact person’s name and the areas that the student can expect to learn about that day (i.e. marketing, franchise ownership, family owned business, accounting, etc.).  And if you’re unable to host a student, the Chamber encourages you to consider donating to the scholarship fund.  For additional information, please visit our website or call the Chamber at (408) 244-8244.
